Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox announced today that Xbox Game Pass will be making its way to Xbox One in Spring 2017. What is Microsoft Game Pass? Well it’s essentially a subscription service that lets you access over a hundred Xbox One and Xbox 360 games without the need of streaming for $9.99 a month.
With access to titles from publishers like 2K, Bandai Namco, Capcom, Codemasters, Deep Silver, SEGA, THQ Nordic, Warner Bros. and Microsoft Studios there will be plenty of games for every type of player. Major game titles planned at launch are Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA 2K16 and Soul Calibur II.
While the service isn’t a streaming platform, it will cycle games in and out while keeping others. All Xbox One games in the catalog and their related add-ons will be provided at an additional discount for Xbox Game Pass owners.
Microsoft will begin testing Xbox Game Pass with select members of the Xbox Insider Program in the Alpha Preview ring starting today and rolling out more invites to Xbox Live Gold members in the near future.
