Despite being announced during 2016’s E3, most of the game is still unknown, which the gameplay released today being the most in-depth and detailing of what our voyages as pirates may look like once released.

The gameplay footage showed a group of pirates preparing their ship to sail through the seas, with a map displaying the vast ocean dotted with a group of small islands to travel to. As expected in such a game, the focus is on the open-world mechanics, allowing players to swim in oceans and sail to land in search of treasures. That said, enemies will arise and attempt to stop you in your tracks. After all, gaining riches from treasures can’t be that easy.

Players will have to work in groups to defend those carrying the treasures to the ship as the hold off threats of all types. The footage showed skeletons and sharks primarily.
